چکیده

The emergence of distributed generation such as solar systems has introduced new challenges in distribution networks that are becoming more apparent with increasing penetration levels. time mismatch between peak load and can make voltage levels swing towards extreme limits during a day. Distribution network service providers struggling to cater for installations while ensuring the quality steady state supply meets stipulated requirements. segregation medium low control strategies may result unnecessary or worse, opposing actions leading issues on one side influencing other. By developing an efficient volt/var method, level unbalance comprehensive be controlled simultaneously. This paper analyses whole, unabridged problem. proposes pragmatic effective method addresses regulation simultaneously using existing infrastructure. proposed is implemented three types representative Australian results obtained demonstrate manage whilst reducing number tap change operations maximizing penetration.

A New Control Strategy for Voltage Restoration and Voltage Unbalance Compensation in an Islanded Droop-Controlled Microgrid

Low voltage microgrids including sensitive loads often face unbalanced load conditions. Therefore, a compensation procedure should be carried out in order to balance and restore sensitive load’s voltage. In this paper, an effective voltage control strategy has been proposed for the autonomous operation of microgrids, under unbalanced load conditions.  The proposed strategy balances single-phase...

Attenuation and propagation of voltage unbalance in radial distribution networks

Recently published International Electrotechnical Committee (IEC) technical reports IEC 61000-3-13 provides detailed methodologies for managing voltage unbalance (VU) in electric power systems. A key aspect in the VU emission allocation process is the estimation of VU propagation in different parts of the network. Although the VU propagation from upstream networks to downstream networks is adeq...

Control concept for active low voltage distribution networks

The following proposal describes the results of the first phase within the research project “DG DemoNet – Smart LV Grid”. The consortium out of distribution system operators (DSOs), research institutions and industry partners have defined a set of control strategies for active low voltage grids. Each strategy can be seen as successive stages, which on the one hand are increasing in complexity o...

Innovative Voltage Regulation Method for Distribution Networks with Distributed Generation

The presence of a significant distributed generation (DG) capacity in distribution networks would result in some conflicts with present system operation criteria, mainly because, unlike the meshed transmission system, the distribution system is usually designed as a “passive” radial system, which is conceived with neither generators operating in parallel nor power flow control. The present pape...

Mitigation of Unbalanced Voltage Sags and Voltage Unbalance in CIGRE Low Voltage Distribution Network

Any problem with voltage in a power network is undesirable as it aggravates the quality of the power. Power electronic devices such as Voltage Source Converter (VSC) based Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) etc. can be used to mitigate the voltage problems in the distribution system. The voltage problems dealt with in this paper are to show how to mitigate unbalanced voltage sags and volt...
